I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. All U.S. employers must ensure proper completion of Form I-9 for each individual they hire for employment in the United States. This includes citizens and noncitizens.
To do this:
a. Go to www.newi9.com
b. Employer Name or Code: Virginia Tech
c. Follow the instructions to complete the process
You will then need to turn in identifying documents to the HR department. These documents are usually a current passport OR a driver's license AND social security card.
