WAN Connectivity

What is the WAN / Network connectivity on the VTCRI campus? 

Local Area Network (LAN): At FBRI, we offer both 5ghz and 2.4ghz wireless and 1gb wired ports to connect you to local resources.

Wide Area Network (WAN): The Roanoke campus is connected to the main Blacksburg campus via 10gb fiber.  In 2019 we will be participating on the Maria Network (Mid-Atlantic Research Infrastructure Alliance) and will have 100gb connectivity between Roanoke, Blacksburg, and the Northern VA Campus.  

Riverside 1, Riverside 2, and the future BRE buildings are connected with bonded 10gb fiber to prove 20gb of connectivity. 

Internet: All Internet access to the Roanoke campus is provided via Blacksburg network services.
