[LEGACY - PRE-ZOOM]: Setting Up Your Virginia Tech Voice Mail

To set up your new Virginia Tech voice mail, please do the following: 

1. Try the voice mail button on your phone (envelope icon).  
   • If it doesn't call into the VT voice mail system for you,  dial 540-231-1000.  (Please also let us know if your message button is not working.)
     • When prompted to access your mailbox, press # to do so. 
     • When access to enter your extension, enter your 5-digit extension followed by the # sign.  For example: 82220#.
2.  When asked for the password, refer to the one assigned to you by the FBRI IT department.  Your initial password for voicemail will be emailed to your @vtc.vt.edu email address.
3. Follow the additional prompts for setting up your voice mail. 

NOTE: When creating a password, it must be 6 digits and '123456' is not allowed.
