Once your voice extension has been provisioned in Zoom you will need to do the following:
1. Close and re-open the Zoom app on all your devices. Once re-opened, you should see a phone icon appear that you can use to make calls, check your voice mail, etc.
2. Review the settings below in the Zoom web portal and change them as needed:
Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
Click Phone on the left, then click the Settings on the top.
-
[REQUIRED]: Emergency Address: Displays the address provided to first responders when dialing an emergency number. Make sure this address is correct. (HINT: Search for your office room number. If in Riverside 2, pre-pend the number with an "R". For example, R1118)
- Business/Closed/Holiday Hours: Change the times when you can answer calls.
-
Voicemail Password (PIN): If you received a physical desk phone, follow these steps to set your initial Zoom Phone Voicemail password / PIN.
-
Voicemail Greeting: Audio that plays before Zoom Phone routes calls to your voicemail. You can customize this by recording audio directly in the web portal or uploading an audio file.
- Managing Voicemail Messages: Save, Delete, and manage voicemails.
NOTE: If you were on the previous Virginia Tech Avaya phone system and wish to have any saved voice mail messages transferred to your Zoom phone account, please open a ticket with Central IT asking them to do so by visiting https://4help.vt.edu.
