Changing the Resolution of the Default Linux Desktop in the VME

At present the VME supports a Linux desktop resolution of 2560 x 1440.

If you have been assigned a VM in the VME and would like to change the default resolution:

1. Log into the VM

2. Click Applications

3. Click System Tools

4. Click Settings

5. In the tool that opens, scroll down on the left until you see Devices

6. Click Devices and you can change the resolution of the screen on the right.

If you notice that text is still too small for your comfort level you can also adjust the DPI Scaling:

1. Follow the steps to change the resolution above.

2. Under Scale change the percentage from 100% to 200% or 300%. For a resolution of 1920x1080 the recommended percentage is 200%

If the scaling does not affect the text in a particular application then you may need to modify the application's settings as well. Links are below for individual applications as we find them.
