If you recently updated your password and you are an Apple user, you may receive an error the next time you log in that your Default Login Keychain Password is incorrect. The easiest method to do that is the following:
- Open Finder
- Select Go at the top of your screen and select Utilities
- In the window that appears, open up Terminal
- Enter the following:
- security set-keychain-password
- Press enter
- Enter in the old password you had to change.
- Please note that the terminal window will NOT echo what you’ve typed locally.
- Enter in the new password you created. It will prompt you to enter it twice.
- In a few seconds, up to a minute or more is possible, you will begin seeing calendar entries updating and anything that needed credentials from your login keychain will begin synchronizing as well.
