Receiving / Reading an Encrypted Email

If you have received an encrypted email from someone at the FBRI, you can use the instructions below to receive and read it.  

1. If you have received an encrypted message from someone at the FBRI, the message itself will be retained on a secure server and you will receive a link to it similar to the message seen below: 



2. Click on the link or paste it into your preferred browser and you will be redirected to the secure server to retrieve the message.  

3. If this is the first time you have visited the secure server, you will be prompted to create a password:

If you have visited the secure server before, you will prompted to log in: 

4. Once logged in, you will see the message(s) sent to you and will be able to read them and reply as needed: 



FACULTY / STAFF, this article describes using the FBRI mail system for sending protected / encrypted messages.  YOU CAN ALSO USE THE VT EXCHANGE ONLINE SYSTEM TO SEND AND PROTECT SENSITIVE INFORMATION VIA EMAIL (FERPA, PII, ePHI).
