ROOM USE INSTRUCTIONS:
R1059 is equipped with (2) large displays and a projector. The room has capabilities for local presentations, videoconferencing, and conference calls.
When setting up for a presentation, you can utilize the room PC or a laptop/MacBook from the podium. If you would prefer to present from the conference room tables, you have the option of wireless casting your laptop/Macbook to the projector screen and monitors.
For a wired connection to the projector, connect your laptop/MacBook to the HDMI cable located on the podium. On the touchpad, ensure that the input is set to Front HDMI.
Connecting a Laptop/MacBook to the Projector from the Podium:
For a wired connection to the projector from the podium, connect your laptop/MacBook to the HDMI cable located at the podium. A Mini DisplayPort and USB-C adapter are available at the podium for MacBook connection.
Make sure the laptop button is selected on the touch panel on the wall to display your content.
Using the Room PC to present on the Projector:
The room PC is located within the sliding tray of the podium. Make sure that it is powered on.
Change the input on the touch panel located on the wall labeled Room PC.
Next utilize the keyboard and mouse, located on the conference table, which are connected to the room PC.
Some essential tools to note are the Map-Network-Drives application, which can be used to access your FBRI Network Home Directory, the Web Mail shortcut to access the web-based email client, or a flash drive to transfer presentation files to the desktop.
Within the Map-Network-Drives application, you will need to login with your FBRI credentials to access your FBRI Network Home Directory. By default the software will ask how long you would like to be connected.
Wireless casting from Laptop/MacBook to the Projector:
To connect to the projector/monitors and cast your screen or application wirelessly, locate touch panel on the wall, change the input to the input labeled Air Media.
Follow the instructions listed on the projector screen to connect to the display. You will need to be connected to the Eduroam and FBRI VPN network to connect successfully.
Video Conferencing
Your video conference will be connected to the (2) large displays.
You can use either the room PC or your own laptop. To connect your laptop use the supplied USB and HDMI connections and select the proper source on the touchpad. Or, you can log into your Zoom meeting by utilizing the Zoom shortcuts on the desktop.
Zoom Workplace - Allows you to sign into your Zoom meeting to host an upcoming meeting.
Help - Directs you to the Zoom articles that we have available at help.vtc.vt.edu
Once in the meeting, the Camera/Microphone and Speakers will be selected by default. You can also change the camera through the zoom settings and select the alternative camera.
Please use the camera settings on the touchpad to make changes as needed.
